Has Anyone Used SPSS Statistics for Their Dissertation Research?

Hey everyone! So, I've been working at Pepperdine's Registrar Office for while now (best gig ever, seriously). But once upon time, was grad student at Berkeley. Yes, full of dreams and drowning in research papers! Remember being completely overwhelmed with my dissertation and, boy, SPSS Statistics was my holy grail. It was like trying to decipher alien codes initially but eventually got the hang of it. The software is super robust; it can handle large amounts of data and perform complex analyses. It's bit tricky to get used to but once you do, it becomes an indispensable tool. Now don't get me wrong there were definitely days when wanted to toss my computer out of the window (Sather Tower looked really tempting some days! Error 9999 anybody? But after seeking help from professors and Google, things started making more sense. Looking back, wish I'd spent more time getting to know SPSS before diving into my research. It would have saved me from many late-night stress eating episodes (thank goodness for Berkeley's late-night pizza places though). So now that I’ve walked down memory lane, got me wondering how many other folks out there have used or are using SPSS Statistics for their dissertations? Do you find it user-friendly or do you think it has steep learning curve too?
