At California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, Hey there, this retired physics professor from UCSB is seeking some insights. Now I'm really curious about Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's "Learn by Doing" philosophy. Does it truly offer distinct, hands-on learning approach or is it just fancy packaging to sell the college? After spending years teaching in traditional lecture-heavy format, can appreciate the value of mixing it up with some practical application ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But does this philosophy actually translate to some good real-world experience for students or are we looking at prime example of marketing spin? Any current students or alumni care to shed light on this? Hey everyone, this international student could use your guidance! Just got accepted into University of San Francisco (lucky me, right? And though thrilled, am equally nervous about what lies ahead. What's the campus life like over there? And, how's the city vibe?
